2. Can I apply if I am currently busy with an Internship or Learnership?
No, you may not do more than one learnership at a time.
3. Does a learner automatically get offered a permanent position after completing the Learnership Programme?
Our preferred outcome of the programme is that learners are absorbed by the mentoring participating organisation, this is however not guaranteed.

Not if the previous Learnership was SETA registered and/or if it was of a similar nature to the learning path you are applying for.
5. Do I need to have Work Experience to be considered for the Learnership?
No, work experience is not a prerequisite.
6. Do your programmes cater to people with disabilities?
Yes, we welcome people with disabilities, however, they will still be required to meet our aptitude and technical requirements.
7. If I successfully complete the Learnership, what do I gain?
Should you successfully complete the Learnership and meet all requirements, you will earn a professional designation, awarded by the ICITP in your chosen specialisation.
8. Where is the Learnership Located?
Location depends on participating organisations. In most cases, the companies will be in Gauteng.
9. Can I do the Learnership if I do not have an IT related degree?
We require a base knowledge of Information Technology, dependent on the specific learning path. Certain engineering degrees, dependent on the amount of Information Technology components in the degree, may be accepted. We cannot take someone with a degree in psychology and expect them to succeed as a Software Engineer.
10. What is an Aptitude Test?
All applicants will be required to complete an Aptitude Test to assess their suitability for the selected learning path. Our Aptitude Test is designed to specifically test your way of thinking (for example, pattern recognition). It is not a test that requires any preparation.
11. How do I prepare for an interview with The AATE?
Our Learnership is based on the assumption that the candidate has the basic technical knowledge for the desired learning path. The interview will check your understanding of the basics in an IT environment. It will also make sure that methods and concepts are contextually understood. This interview requires preparation! To attend the interview having forgotten the basic methods and concepts mentioned above will not be acceptable.
12. Can I apply if I am still busy studying?
No, the demands required to complete the programme are of such nature that it requires your focused attention.
13. Do you assist learners in finding employment, if not absorbed by the Participating Organisation?
Yes, learners not absorbed by the Participating Organisation are assisted to find employment through our sister company.
